Challenge

To create an Independent Online Store for an Ebay Power Seller, that would generate the same revenue but without paying Ebay's fees.

Research Synthesis

Stakeholder Interview

We started of by conducting 2 onsite interviews with the owners of the business and learned the following:

Ecommerce - The wanted a complete ecommerce solution where they could list the products, manage their customers and track the shipments.

Marketing - A way to reach their customers through email marketing, and maintain high levels of traffic that would surpass their Ebay store in the future.

Sample websites - They had done some preliminary research on their own and showed us some of the sites they liked for us to use as reference.

Competitive Analysis

We performed a Competitive Analysis by making a list of 5 Ecommerce Jewelry websites, including Amazon and Ebay Jewelry Sections and made a list of all the pain points that we discovered in our analysis. We used these findings to make Personas and craft our product strategy.

MoodBoard

We also built a moodboard after getting a list of some of the websites to use as reference by the client. We used Pinterest for it and shared it with their team to get a better understanding of what they had in mind, and also post whatever we liked. This helped us narrow our choices and move more swiftly in the visual stage.

Personas

We created four personas to represent the different kinds of clients that would be buying from Daily Jewel. Each persona had different buying goals and preferences which helped us craft our product strategy that would meet all the different persona's goals without negatively impacting any one over the other.

Sketching

Next, we sketched many ideas that could be applied to our clients solution, focusing on solving each problem/pain point that we got from our stakeholder interviews and personas. Through many cycles of iteration of sketching and refining, we were able to arrive at numerous possible solutions.
